Water & Rails Pond and Garden Railroad Tour
MacLean Financial Group and Rail City Garden Center together organize a charity event in conjunction with the premier sponsor Nevada Home Magazine. This event uses garden trains and water features as the main attraction. The Water & Rails, Pond and Garden Railroad Tour is a self-guided tour to some of the most impressive ponds and garden railroads in all of Northern Nevada. This event has gained local, regional and national news coverage.

From sponsorships and ticket sales we were able to raise $58,000 in 2007 for the ALS of Nevada to obtain a nurse to serve the Northern Nevada ALS patients

The 2008 event will benefit ALS of Nevada, a non-profit organization that serves ALS patients and their families throughout Nevada.  Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, often referred to as "Lou Gehrig's disease," is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. Many in the Northern Nevada area are affected by ALS and the funds raised this year will help to improve the quality of life for those individuals.  For more information, please visit www.alsofnevada.org.

Our goal for this year is to raise $75,000 for this important charity. Sponsorships have been the main source of funding for this event, but with the great success of the live auction last year, we will again be including a live auction to help raise even more money for the charity we are supporting.
